Happy with the results myself. Some interesting choices.

My only disapointment is Valkyria Chronicles only walked away with 1 award and a weird one at that (Best ps3 strategy game)

Left 4 Dead really did clean up in a number of catagories. Littlebigplanet had a nice mix of wins and runners up that looks a bit weird at first. Fallout 3 must be really good then, will have to pick it up at some point.

Something that I felt was interesting is that GTA IV was seen as the second biggest disappointment of the year, and yet it won the 360 Action Adventure Game Of The Year Award, and came second in the PS3 category of the award. Split board, huh?

As to the awards themselves, I'm happy with the results. Glad to see Phoenix Wright: Trials And Tribulations get second at least in the DS category, those games are excellent and it at least deserves that placement. This has been a barren year for fighters though, Soul Calibur IV aside. FIFA 09 DEFINITELY deserved to sweep the sports awards, it's the best game around for football. It has it's flaws, but in terms of presentation and polish, and now in terms of gameplay as a representation of the sport it is head and shoulders above it's competition.

Well I thought that GTAIV was a very disapointing game but I couldn't call it a bad game. It's still really good but the loss of features from older games, lack of mission variety, the loss of humour and the awful writing and story made it a disappointment for me. I expected little from saints row 2 and ended up enjoying it more.

How about console of the year? You can't deny it's been a pretty good year for all things 360. I don't think Red Alert 3 deserves any awards though, Civilisation Revolution was much better. I thought CoD: WaW would have popped up somewhere too.
