    No it didn't. That's called seeing things through rose-tinted specs. Heatwaves in Ireland in the past 33 years: 76, 77, 83, 84, 89, 95, 06.
93 and 97 probably had a few hot days each - they weren't long, hot summers though. Definitely not.

No wonder with you raining on everybody's parade. :P

    Hmm.

Another one I like (but hate at the same time if thats possible) is the smell of a packed bus at rush hour when its pissing rain and everyone has that steam coming off them. Lets you know you're alive and it aint all roses. The only thing that ruins this one is if some swine has left an orange or any part of one some where on the the bus, because then it becomes an endurance test.

Salt and vinegar crisps. Can be any brand, although Tayto's always pop into my mind first. Just thinking about them can be enought to get my mouth to water. Alternatively, Snaps. They were class, so bring them back.

This only popped into my head a minute ago.

I've spent the last 20 minutes stabbing holes in a leg of lamb. I stuffed every hole with a slice of garlic and some bruised rosemary. I rubbed the whole thing with olive oil and covered it in too many layers of salt and black pepper. The smell off the thing is putting me into some form of dormant state. It's beautiful, and officially my favourite of all-time-ever.

When I was a kid it was cut grass or the smell off the the roads and footpaths when a sudden summer shower was drying up. Pencil shavings were nice too. But all that is history now.

Any one else got the one that makes life worthwhile?

I know it has nothing to do with smell but does anyone remember, when Ireland had sun and heatwaves and the tar in middle of road would melt and u could walk with no shoes on and stick ur toes in it
Yes! I remember my patent shoes were destroyed

That was deadly because you didn't need a lollipop stick to scrape up the chewing gum off the road either. Its amazing how neglect seems to revitalise mint flavourings.

Nah, you mean novocaine and whatever else makes up the 40 - 60% of that muck. Keep that little bit of clingfilm though. Pound for pound its the most expensive thing you'll ever buy.

The couple of people who said fresh weed get loads of +1's though.
