At least 19 people have been killed in two missile attacks by suspected US drones flying over northwest Pakistan

Al Jazeera's correspondent in Pakistan, Kamal Hyder, said: "The attacks are the first since President Barack Obama took office and announced his special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan and, more importantly, on the eve of tribal chieftains meeting the president of Pakistan."

Asif Ali Zardari, the Pakistani president, has called on Barack Obama, his US counterpart, to end American missile attacks in South Asian nation's tribal border regions with Afghanistan.

I reckon Obama will tackle Pakistan in due time, but I doubt these attacks were ordered directly by him.

    What do you reckon?

sounds like it's part of the ongoing war in Afghanistan

From what ive read of his speeches, Obama seems to imply that he will be fair but firm in his approach.

From a speech he made circa 2002 he said that he does not object to all war, just wars that aren't justifiable.

As regards to Pakistan, perhaps he will try diplomacy first and if that fails he'll send in the guns?

Ive read that it has the highest concentrations of extremist Islamic groups in the Middle East...

I think if Pakistan has called a halt to the bombing
the US needs to take them seriously
