Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quick question - can you pay adelaide insurance in installments? or do they want it all up front??? Also, will they give you immediate cover over the phone?

Obviously I can ring them in the morning and find out but just wondering if anyone knows at the moment as I'm looking at a bike in the morning.

They gave me immediate cover over the phone when I added a second bike to my existing policy. Not sure if they do it when you setup a policy from scratch though...

And last time I checked they didn't do installments for the Republic of Ireland.

    Ring them on 04890 330 151 sure!

I just got apolicy with them and was told they don't do instalements as they are only the broker. I think they may do immediate cover as when i made the payment they gave me a policy ref number. Give them a bell you will defo be happy with thir prices......

Oh just a quick note, if you are using the bike to travel to and from work make sure you tell them otherwise you wont be covered

    good deal.....

well i dont know what to say to that really.

they were cheaper than quinn, i didn't even bother with carol nash based on previous experience of asking for quotes off them and on what friends have told me.

the insurance (TPFT) is nearly double what my fully comp. car insurance was at last renewal. i've been off bikes 3 years so my 5 years NCB is gone. i think thats a bit unfair really. they're treating me like someone who's never been on a bike - i'd accept that i'm likely to be a bit rusty - but c'mon - after 7 years on bikes without a bump, do you really forget it all in three years and revert back to as bad as someone who's never been on a bike in their life? once i got on the bike the other day it was like i'd never been off one!

i was insured with AON before - for a good few years (was hibernian i think before that??) - anywya, AON wouldn't even quote me.

rant over!!! good deal, not sure - but it feels good to be back on two wheels:)

i'm hoping to do some advanced training this year which hopefully will bring the premium down next year. i might actually post up a tread asking about that - i see on IAM website you can make 'private' arrangements for training with IAM certified people - might ask on here if anyone is able to make such an arrangement with me.

..i've been off bikes 3 years so my 5 years NCB is gone. i think thats a bit unfair real
    ...

...not half as unfair as losing 16yrs NCB after 2.5yrs off the bike (on the road).....just ask my SO

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I admit that losing all your NCB because you haven't been insured in over 2 years is a bit unfair... Especially in your case galwaytt!

I think you should only lose 50% of your NCB after 2 years and 100% after 5 years (or something like that).

@ what to do?: Training is always a great thing to do but another thing to remember is that Adelaide will give you 10% off if you do the Garda BikeSafe (which is free!). I did it and I definitely recommend it! It's not a Training as such; it is an Assessment only. But you learn a fair bit and the lads are really nice! :)
