Not too sure if this is the right place to put this, (mods feel free to move it if so,) but i'm getting married in July and me and mrs want an unusual car for it, a couple of ideas but i'm not sure how to source them, i assume none of the normal sites for limos will have these but just wondering if anyone here would have any idea?

    1. Is a 70's or 80's BMW (she loves a 76 we see each day on the way to work in Clontarf)
    2. 60's or 70's Merc saloon

    Cheers

Look into hiring from these people. I Hired the E-type great car, great people to deal with.

Might have trouble squeezing a bride + A.N. Other into an e-type... ;)

The Mondial has back seats but you'd definitely need the roof down!

Having researched wedding car a few years back, I never found a company offering 70's saloons (other than Rollers).

The problem you'll find with sourcing something unusual is that the wedding car providers will only invest a car if there's a market for them. That's why most that do older cars will stock the reliables like Rollers, Bentleys, Daimlers, and even modern lookalikes like Beaufords. I'm in the business myself and I can tell you that old vintage wedding cars are treated the same as taxis and hackneys in that they have to be NCTed every 12 months and have to have a PSV licence and public liability insurance etc. In other words there's a fair amount of cost involved in having the car sitting there so if it's a car that you only get the occasional booking for, then it's not worth it for the owner.

If you decide to book a vintage car from a supplier, make sure to ask if it's licenced by the Taxi Regulator and has a silver disc in the top rhs of the windscreen. If it doesn't, the car isn't licensed or insured for hire work. You'd be amazed at the number of cowboys out there.
