How come the newspapers claim there are over 3,000 affordable homes sitting idle, waiting to be bought, and draining upto €300k per month just for sitting there, and yet the official site, www.affordablehome.ie claims only 695 homes are available? Also, on another point, when will the supposed 25 percent discount to Dublin…

How come the newspapers claim there are over 3,000 affordable homes sitting idle, waiting to be bought, and draining upto €300k per month just for sitting there, and yet the official site, www.affordablehome.ie claims only 695 homes are available?

Also, on another point, when will the supposed 25 percent discount to Dublin City Council apply? And when will Dublin City Council properties actually become available on the website?

They're separate schemes. one is a national organisation, the other is run by each local authority
