Can somebody please explain to me why the pundits and just about everyone else are saying that Tim Tebow couldn't hack it as a pro QB? I mean 2 national championships, a Heisman trophy and a finalist for a second? His passing doesnt seem to be that bad and he sure can pound the rock.

I just dont understand why he wouldn't be a good pro?

Nice links Trisram, while this was written before he said he was staying in college I found this prediction comical.

I stand by my prediction that Bill Belichick will draft Tebow, then unleash him. (I wouldn't be surprised if Belichick made it clear through back-channels -- perhaps Beli BFF Urban Meyer -- that the Pats won't let Tebow slide past them in the 1st round.)

Yeah, I was unsure as to whether there was anything to Belichick-Tebow other than that one phone call that's mentioned.

As I said before, and I'm sure eagle eye might add his spoke to this - Tim Tebow is too good NOT to make it in the NFL.
When he does (not if), I'm sure we'll have many debates about how "well, he's never gonna win a Super Bowl" or "yeah but he's no Manning or Brady" ad nauseum. But hey, a grudge is a grudge.

OP, watch the early morning CFB show on NASN, those guys think he'll make it too. So not all the pundits (i.e. not the ones who actually watch College Football) are wrong.

Mike Mayock view I think is spot on and Mayock is the best draft guy out of the big stations/networks.

"In a nutshell, I thought Vince [Young] was a winner ... I thought he was the kind of kid who made the people around him better. But I wasn't sure he was ever going to be able to pass the ball from the pocket well enough to lead an NFL team to a Super Bowl. Right now, I wonder the same thing about Tebow. ...

I would struggle as an NFL general manager drafting either guy [Tebow or Young] .... That's me, though. Whether it's Tebow or Young, you've got to completely retailor your offense to take advantage of what they do best. And in the event of an injury, is the next guy the same kind of guy?"

I like Maycock. He always looks at things with logic. And I remember his piece on Vince Young haha

What do you mean by 'make it'?

Davyjose and myself are in agreement here. And thats not normal:pac:

But I've said enough on the subject. My final comment still applies, I'm willing to wait and see and then say 'I told you so' when he wins his first ring after leading a team all the way.

Is Tebow a great collegiate player? Yes
Will Tebow get drafted high? Yes
Will Tebow go great things in the NFL (Superbowls, MVPs)? No one can say.

The NFL is simply too unpredictable when it comes to players moving up from the college ranks.

Just to clarify as to the OP
I just dont understand why he wouldn't be a good pro?

I dont think there is any reason why Tebow cannot be a good pro. Just not so sure he will be a 'special one'.
