    Hi,
I'm trying to find some of this "d&g old jamaica ginger beer", it's for some Dark and Stormys, all the places I knew of are out of it.
I'm in Cork, let me know

    Dark and stormy (makes 1)
1 1/2 Shots Golden Rum (like the stuff in tesco, but not the dark ship rum)
Juice of 1/2 or 1 lime, and a slice or two thrown in the drink
    Crushed Ice
    1/2 bottle d&g old jamaica ginger beer (1 bottle = 500ml)

    then Drink

I had this recently up north

it was made with 5yr Havana Club
    Juice of half a lime,
    with plenty of ice

Rub the rim of the glass with the lime, before you drop it in.
It gives it a lovely lime kick :)

Petrol stations tend to have it sometimes, but haven't seen any recently anywhere. The one near the middleton roundabout used to have it, but haven't seen it there for about a year.

I've seen it in the health food shop in the shopping center at paul street , in cork city. (Haven't been in there in a few weeks and probably won't be thetre for a few more, they might have some)

I've tried other types, but the d&g old jamaica ginger beer really has the best taste.

i was doing a bit of Google'ing and apparently Marks & Sparks do a Ginger Beer, and Ginger Beer is popular in African shops as well.

I couldn't tell you where to find an African shop in cork.. Somewhere in Blackpool i would imagine.

It can be bought online, but i don't think I'd want 24 cans of it.

    African shops on Shandon St.
and one just across the Shandon foot bridge (I think it's African).

They also sell malt drinks which I've seen people mix with Guinness Foreign Extra - must try that sometime.

Somebody brought an organic ginger cordial to my house which when made up with sparkling water is really good (fiery!) and quite like ginger beer.
Not sure where he got it - some posh deli, no doubt.

The Marks & Spencer Pear and Ginger Cordial is like this, and really good.

The organic ginger cordial is available in the Quay Co-Op in Cork.

Fentiman's Ginger Beer is also great but pretty expensive, usually can be found in health food shops, the quay co-op may have it also.

...seeing as we're talking Ginger Beer - I had Bundaberg Ginger Beer (Australian) in two places in Galway in recent months - the Cottage Bar and the G Hotel.

Where, though can I buy it - anyone know who imports it ?

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I got some more in the post office in blarney.
    33cl Can €1.10

Where is the Natures Way shop in Paul St SC? is it upstairs ?

That Shop on Shandon St, is Painted green and is directly across the road from the Cathedral Credit Union. They only had 33cl Cans @ €1 a pop :)

Yes it's upstairs with the gaming shop

No, it's downstairs, near the toilets, past the craft shop.

I only took 6 bottles, had a bit of a shindig happening and needed the supplies

Don't know why I came across this thread - I wasn't looking but it provides a pleasant interlude from my usual ranting. As a Ginger Beer addict I am convinced that there is only one worth a damn - Fentimans, botanically brewed (!) with a real kick - no additives or other crap. See pic here:Ginger Beer 003.JPG

It is available at quite a number of outlets and is distributed by through the Lemondrop in West Cork ,according to Fentimans, but the website has been under construction for a long time. Details are:
Call 086 858 1607 for all the information you need on our product range

    Or email: info@lemondrop.ie
I am going to try brewing my own after inspiration yesterday from this You Tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3Ijxsh6cIw

    Cheers.

    Fentimans is delicious.
Marks and Spencer have reduced the price of their Ginger Beer it's now only 74c a litre, it's nowhere near as good as Fentimans and not as hot as D&Gs but not too bad as a back-up
