Karen was in touch with me today to say she was pleased with how the first meeting went yesterday. She said there were 10-12 at it.

The Irish ME Trust have organised a meeting for Waterford for Sat 6th Feb - see: http://www.imet.ie/imet_website/meetings_events/waterford_metting.html .

People could meet others at such a meeting of course (tea and coffee will be provided).

[I am not connected with the Irish ME Trust and do not have further details].

See http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=63211633&postcount=33 . I don’t think Karen has held any other meetings since then but it could still be useful to contact her.

Marie Coffey 053-9234091 organised two meetings in Wexford in the last 6 months or so. I’m not sure if any more are planned.

I’m a volunteer with the Irish ME/CFS Association and was in touch with the Irish ME Trust recently (we were doing our newsletter) and they didn’t know of any local groups meetings planned in the coming months. Groups often wait to advertise meetings in our newsletter, the next won’t be now till end of August or September.

In the meantime, people who contact us for a free info pack, are sent a contact list with the first names and numbers for over 100 people around Ireland. There are three people from Wexford on the current list. If people join, there is a different list where people can give descriptions of themselves for the telephone network list as well as a list of people who say if they are interested in local groups in their area (they can give a radius).

There have been lots of groups around the country that have come and gone over the years.

I don't know if I deleted it or a moderator did but I meant to include Marie's number. It was on the Irish ME Trust website in connection with these meetings - it isn't secret information (I have plenty of numbers that of course I wouldn't release). Anyway, if somebody wants it, PM me.
