Congrats to Tim Robbins, who got married at the Weekend.

Perhaps, we could have a sticky, to wish other posters well on life's landmarks, birthdays, babies and Weddings?

I'm confused... did you just congratulate yourself?

Anyhoo, if you did indeed get married over the weekend - congrats. :)
Was there a church involved? And how come you are online rather than sitting on some beach somewhere?

Yeah on Saturday. Just doing some packing now for Honeymoon.
Yeah Church involved. They were brilliant.

I'm also confused. Perhaps the Oscar winning actor tied the knot? Or maybe Tim now refers to him self in the 3rd person?

Congratulations if yo did get married, Tim.

    Great stuff. Enjoy your trip!

Not sure we can justify a sticky though, tbh.
I doubt there'd be enough occasions in our bleak, joyless lives to warrent one. ;)

Not true. I woke up this morning and somehow found the strength to go to work. Surely that is worth a mention? Ah, another meaningless day almost over.....

Sorry if I sound insensitive...but why is this in the Atheism forum? I expected a discussion about Atheist weddings and different ideas - what traditions you decided to keep etc., but later in the thread you said you did get married in a church. Perhaps this should be on the Christian forum?

Well at least you didn't mention christenings in the original post.

    Congratulations by the way.

I don't know, I suppose because I have posted here a lot over the years and I just felt like it.

For my speech, I was going to go on about Darwin as 2009 marks two important anniversaries for him. But I decided not to bother.

Congrats Tim, I hope you guys have many many years of happiness.

As to the Church/Registry office thing, were those your only options and if so is that an Irish law thing? I was lucky enough to get married on a sunny beach, was great.

Law is changing in that regard. You can have ceremony in several places once they are approved by the HSE.
