Recommendations for colourfull japanese sleeve

    Hello all,

    Still pretty new on here. Looking for some advice, going to be starting work on a 3/4 japanese style sleeve soon. Thinking of getting black background and then loads of bright colour in the koi and some bright flowers as well. just wondering were people would recommend for this? Up to now all my tattoos have been black.

    Have heard good things about Darren in colourworks but not much japanese work on his site or in his studio, and have seen some good work from the italians but from what I can make out they are better for their black work.

    Really just wondering if anyone has recommendations for an artist for this type of work. Thanks in advance, joey

    If you take a look back through this thread you'll find some fine examples. Can't remember where they were done offhand though, sorry!

    Thanks for the quick reply Damo, looked through that alright, but alot of them have expired and not alot of the style I want! Had a look thru BME as well but just looking for the artist now.

    Just looking for some one who is good at japanese stuff really, with lots of colour. Heard about Darren but not much on his website, just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations really! Thanks Joey

    Have seen them galleries, not much japanese stuff in Darren's gallery but think the colour from there is more what I'm looking for. Have had work done by Michele already, know he is good but Colourworks seems to suit more what I'm looking for this time.

    Last I heard, Karen Russell had basically given up tattooing professionally. Thats a couple years ago now though

    Karen Russell, Joe Myler or Tommy. They all do amazing Japanese work, personally I'd go with Karen over the rest.
