    I recognised the diagonal piece of concrete from the boardwalk to the beach - it is below the orange house in my photo.

    I'm new to the thread, but I gather that means I get to post something now.

    Can I let someone else post a new photo for the moment and i'll jump in later? All my photos on flickr are labelled with their location, and i don't have access to my normal hard-drive at the moment.

    You can post a pic from flickr but remove the URL bits and hense you won't have a link back to the photos.
    ie. you should just have the IMAGE tags:
    <IMG>http://blahblahblahblah_SomeImage.jpg</IMG&gt;

    While it could be a Kashmiri house-boat, my money is on the backwaters of Kerala somewhere between Cochin and Trivandrum.

    One of my favourite places in this wide world - I remember floating down them while reading The God of Small Things.

    ThOnda, the earlier one was Lahinch.

    I'll post something after lunch to test ye.

    Bray ?

    Bray ?

    No. I'll give you a clue - about 3/4's of the way up the picture on the left you can see a thin sliver -It's an Egyptian monument. But the picture wasn't taken in Egypt.

    sorry, that was obviously a bit obscure - its the view from the Big Wheel in the occasional fairground in the Tuileries in Paris (the garden in front of the Louvre). The Place de la Concorde is the monument on the left.

    I'll let someone else have a go and jump back in again later.. maybe using a daylight photo.
