Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It says it all that Liverpool fans think they have improved.

    Deluded.

Liverpool fans, or indeed anybody with an IQ greater than 10, should be able to conclude upon looking at the evidence, that Liverpool have without doubt, improved on last season in the Premier League.

Please prove to me that they haven't improved. Please? Go on? Just for a laugh like.

    1-Wigan
    2-Liverpool
    3-Fulham
    4-Villa

Wigan have been great this season.
Old Fat head's doing a great job.

Anyone who dismisses Liverpool's an idiot, plain and simple.
To hold the top spot for 7 weeks is so beyond simply an improvement on last season, it's not funny.

Fulham have so much belief this term.
    Great to see.

Villa have improved a bit, but Arsenal messing up has made their improvement look bigger than it actually is.

The only thing separating Villa And Liverpool is goal difference! How can you say Liverpool have improved more?

It may not of been wise to post that when the post directly above yours links to a site that allows you see the table this time last year...

Eh, Liverpool have a game in hand over Villa too, for god's sake at least look at the bloody table before you post.

People can easily say Liverpool have improved more, since after 22 matches played of the season, Liverpool are 8 points better off than they were after 22 matches last season, and Aston Villa are 5 points better off after 22 matches than they were after 22 matches last season.

First of all its about points in the bag, not what could be. Why go back to thistime last year, its about how much a team has imporved from last season(league end) in which Villa finished 16 pts behind Liverpool and 27 pts of Man U and now we are up there with challenging for the league.( i know it won't last);)

Your logic is so flawed, and your post so contradictory, that I'm not sure I can adequately respond without suffering an embolism.

Any chance the word 'deluded' can be banned from Boards. Sick of it at this stage

I would imagine if every other team in the Premier League outside of the 'SKY four' had the same amount of money to spend as Villa have, Villa wouldn't be near the top current 4.

What some clubs have done with very little resources eclipses what Aston Villa have done with their free spending.

Villa have had to build on the smallest squad in the premiership. As any Villa fan will tell you, Deadly Doug wasn't one to dip into his pocket.

Yeah, that's what you were doing...

Yes it was so you can keep your petty little comments to yourself until they're actually warranted.

Liverpool are more improved than Villa this year. +8 points on this time last year as opposed to Villa's +5 points at this stage of the season.

The most improved teams in the league are Wigan and Fulham who have +11 points on this stage of last season.

It's there in black and white for anyone who will bother their hole to do some actual research before, y'know, posting absolute nonsense that we have to waste our time reading.

    no no no

you dont calculate improvement by looking at points by calender, you do it by looking at who the teams have played

Jesus you are on some form today.

But your post is a load of absolute tosh.

I don't think that's the best (certainly not the only) way to judge the answer to this question. It could possibly be seen as such if the fixtures were the same every year. As it is however, it doesn't take into account which teams have been played against, and this makes it inherently a very flawed method.

One which is certainly not capable of justifying your overblown sense of self-satisfaction with your own reasoning, or calling other people idiots for disagreeing.

and for the record spockety, after 23 games last season villa had 40 points, so we're 7 points better off if youre going by that (flawed) method
