iPhone text alert but no text?!

Has anyone else come across this? It's happened a few times now, most recently tonight. I get a text message alert and the iPhone vibrates, but when I check the phone there is nothing. I have the 2G iPhone, 2.1 firmware. Any ideas?

Is it an unread text? It will alert you again a few minutes after a text arrives if you don't read it.

This happened to me a few times actually. Not worrying, just peculiar. I've got the 3g with 2.1
