Had whiteout in Ashford 20 minutes ago.
Left a good covering, about 2mm depth.

What is pleasing is how easily the temp fell in the shower.
    From 1.8C to 0.4C, Dp-1C
    Grass temp -2C
    5cm soil +2C

I woke (she's a light sleeper) my 6yp daughter asking her did she want to see the snow, to which she answered a sleepy grumpy "No" She has now joined me! all excited because her velux window is covered, but she missed the real show. She'll see whiteout later.

    Temp is holding at 0.4C

A bit worrying how quickly its melting - the dusting here is pretty much gone on the roads, still on cars alright but otherwise gone. Has the temp not dropped as much as thought?

Not as much as i'd thought, expected dews to be lower.

But still game on, just need some heavier snow to get ya a covering and then it will be hard to melt from there on, partial coverings always melt easily

    Just feky stuff here atm

Yep, just outside of the town itself. Its eased off a little now, damn, just when it was starting to stick, but it gave a nice sprinkling anyway.

Can we expect anymore organised stuff this morning or will it continue hit and miss?

Now that I'm not on a flight in two hours :D I have my 4 year old daughter all hyped up about snow too, she would be delighted if there is some snow cover today!

How are we looking for Tuesday now? Any clearer as to the low pressure system and what it will deliver?

I want prolonged, heavy snow!!! Not damp dustings...
