I'd say this thing tonight is going to stay as snow in most areas but turn to sleet as DPs rise to 1c in Dublin/Meath/Louth between 3-6am before turning back to snow.... On our side is the fact its night time, low temps, decent 850hpas, heavyish precip.

Could stay totally snow if there is a covering on the ground.

Bloody hell...over 1500 posts since last Wednesday..that must be some sort of record...

No snow where I am in Cork..lovely and sunny like it should be in Cork:)

The weather is still undecided in Blanchardstown! Been a mix of blue skies/hailstones/light snow showers all day :( A few bigger flakes starting to come down very slowly now and sky looks heavy with snowclouds. Rang home (Dunshaughlin) in the hope that the place would be covered by now but it's practically melted there! Hopefully these clouds are moving north!!

I certainly intend letting this thread continue!

Seems like some showers lining up to head into North county.

Although one seems to it might slip too far south for here and head into Dublin Bay.

A few behind it though with Malahide/Donabate its direction.

Indeed it does, really picked up, I reckon those that missed out so far today in the north east should shortly start seeing something.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

    hey supercell

you reckon in your experience we will get a covering?

the showers seem to curling away to the south. any radar images i can see seem to be just curling away

I've had frequent, moderately heavy snowshowers since early this morning! Sure aint sunny here ;). About 2 or so inches on the ground already and a decent snowman has been constructed! I like 'making' new friends! :D

i doubt that there will be heavy snow overnight in dublin, the dew points are gonna rise....I'd say 2 degrees with sleet on the coast, but inland could potentially be a snowfest;)
