Headin off to sleep in a sec but the DP here in Waterford is reading -1.8 and a temp of 0.3

Theres a slight bit of dry snow blowing in the wind.

It seems set up ok for later on doesnt it?

If things say like that and we get a good dose of that precip then its lookin good.

Embee whats the roads like around Ardee?

    Grand gonker.

There has been no snow here, none thats stuck anyhow. I drove to Drogheda this morning and the far side of Collon from here (Monasterboice? Where Lavin Park is anyways) was treacherous, but in and around Ardee is fine.

edit : still snowing lightly here, is sticking to car bonnets and wooden fencing, but that's it.

yeh the charts are wrong, whats happeneing in reality is its raining on the eastern coast and anywhere else where its snowing its very light and patchy, more like mist-snow, its not amounting to anything. The majority on any lying snow is from the showers earlier today. The front is now stalled over the east and is starting to break up but some heavier precepitation down towards the south east coast.

+0.2 dropping to 0 then +0.1 and around that.

Wind has changed to NNW which is helping as it is off the wicklow mts now as opposed to the sea.

Sleet turning back to big flake snow in Dublin 8 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

DP's in the Dublin area seem to be just slightly the wrong side of zero, I think thats why there's been reports of rain there rather than snow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,685 ✭✭✭Mobhi1

Still some very fine snow flakes blowing around here although there seems to be some rain mixed in now. 0.4C.

Good 4 1/2 inches with maybe 6 or more up on the hill at the pub we were at an hour ago.
Pelting down a hail snow mix at the moment again.

Starting to get a bit around North Meath now...
I hear Cellbridge and the N4/N7 areas in Dublin are extremely bad. Trucks cant get up hills and have been blocking the roads since 16.30 today!:eek:

More bullplop weather reporting from Met Eireann on RTE news now! Can they just say @ severe weather warnings everywhere except the west of the country!

Still no snow! Ice on the cars now. Nasty breeze as well!

    Who, which guy? Thanks.

A bit of light sleety snow here atm

  • Registered Users Posts: 40 Snowshoe Sam

Snowing lightly again here in Wexford - light but flakey. For the last couple of hours we have only had a misty drizzle of sleety snow. But there was an ominous sound of dripping around outside just now....temps seem to be rising? :(

Are we likely to get anything further later on tonight?
