Cigar in Brandy

    I recently saw someone dipping their cigar in Brandy before smoking it. Has anyone eles ever saw this and is it a regular practice as it seemed quite strange.

    Never seen it before,unless you left it for a few hours after the dipping sure you'd be smoking a soggy auld cigar....yuck

    It didn't look too appealing to me to be honest. After a quick google search I found this:

    Dipping the cigar in brandy is a very old school technique. Mostly done as a quick way to moisterize a cigar. Back in the day, humidification technology wasn't what it is today and cigars were known to be on the dry side. So folks would dip them in their brandy (or other liquor) for a quick infuse of moisture

    I'd rather smoke a dry cigar rather than risk ruining both the cigar and me glass of brandy.
