    Is Tommy Tiernan doing a show at the comedy club tomorrow? Ive heard he is but i havent seen any posters and its not on the website?

    According to today's Advertiser, he's the guest MC in Cuba's comedy club tomorrow night. Pat Mc Donnell is the main act.

    He used to do this MC gig regularly. Although it got annoying if you went to see him two weeks in a row and heard the same material.. that ain't how you MC.

    well it would appear it is how to be one, vast majority of comedians have prepared sets. so if you followed a particular comedian to various gigs you will hear the same gags, it's how it's done.

    Unless it was "Whose line is it anyway". Now that is pure comedy genius.

    Even Billy Connelly has gotten really bad for it lately. His been draging the same jokes around with him for a couple of years now.

    Now that would be improv. A different animal in most places to stand-up, although in Ireland it seems a lot of improvisers also do stand-up. It the States, there tends to be more of an even split between actors and comedian.

    Oh, and Whose Line shoots about 4 hours of footage to get you your half hour gems. Fairly good ratio though. :)
