N95 sim registration failure?

hi got an n95 last week was originally locked to vodafone but purchased knowing it had been unlocked. phone has been working all week fine since i got it but has now chosen to not recognise my sim. when i turn it on and enter pin the nokia theme plays and then after a few seconds when the main srceen appears a message say…

Sounds like it's barred. Try other network sims in it and see if you get the same problem.

Could be one of 2 things the phone is barred or you need a new sim..Try the sim in another phone. that should ans your questions.

has been working fine all week. will try another sim in it but my sim works fine in another phone. when you say it could be barred what do you mean by that.
