There are a few here that are never used. What purpose do they serve? Now I've not seen examples on some poster getting modship of a dead forum so I'm not saying they are badly run.

I've had a quick glance at two and no it's not the Mustard forum!
Last post in Chuck Norris forum was seven months ago and last post in David Hasselhoff forum was eight months ago.

I'm sure there are other forums like this.

So admin, time for a purge?
Now maybe it costs nothing extra to keep them but I like to keep clutter to a minimum so they aren't being used then maybe it's time to kill them and let other posters with new ideas launch something new

    FWIW, I agree in principle.

Presumably something the Community Manager will look into when the role is filled.

    An excellent mod.

I've deleted more posts in warcraft than there have been legit posts. :/

i used to be of the same opinion, but then, who really cares? i think if you have time to investigate outdated/unused forums, you should spend that time away from the computer, doing something more productive.
bottom line: if they don't get in your way, leave them be.

    also, me for community manager!

Not when it's followed repeatedly by Groundhog Day.

So you've been the only thing holding back the horde from destroying the world... of Warcraft.

sell it off to the warhammer forum, that'll really sting.

Ah yes, offerings for The Immortal Empreror. Always welcome.

Or Blood for The Blood God, if you swing that way...

When was the last time you modded AH? Out of curiousity, like.

last time I banned somebody from there was two weeks ago. Usually read the reported posts and it's already done, not that I check too frequently or anything...

A good reason to delete the World of Warcraft forum, if any!

FWIW I think Chuck Norris is a big fan of Classic Rock.
Just change the name slightly and let me squat there for a while.
    I'll be good I promise.
The idea of deleting forums might be a good one because of the current bloating.
I think we may need a bit of an overhaul of TV and Music also to bring back the vitality of larger-scale discussion.
I realise that this may clash directly with my own forum request but I would rather a better more inclusive boards experience.

Aye. And in other other news, you may have stumbled into the sarchasm* there, big guy.

(* I still love you for that, TarA).

As a rule of thumb: if a forum has had no posts in 3 months then it gets snipped.

    Liar! :pac:
    go check.

anytime people suggest this, some jerk always posts on the dead forum to annoy them...
    <_<

    >_>

the best thing about these threads is that it makes people aware the forum is there, and maybe start interest again. or not. it depends.

i'd be inclined to be of the opinion that the more forums there are, the better.

In fact the Chuck Norris forum has been deleted 4 times, only to appear again the next morning.
