Much higher minimum temp last night 4.2C - highest we've had in about 2 weeks.

Is there much snow left in Wicklow, or will there be much left by tomorrow? My son wants to go up and see some decent snow. Where would be a decent place at this stage? All we've got now are snowman and giant snowball remains.

    Temp already above yesterday's max
    11.4C
    Overnight min 7.8C
Sunny spells and light westerly wind

    5cm 5.4C at 9am 6.5C now
    20cm 4.9C at 9am

Ah theres a fair bit left.
The high ground to the west of me circa 600ft has snow in the ditches - presumably whats left of the drifts.
Further up theres almost full cover.
You could take the N11 south and take the Rathdrum/Rathnew exit and head for Rathdrum.
Then head for Glenmalure and take the military road to the top which is circa 1200ft and just head into the woods.
There should be plenty of snow there.

Alternatively take the Arklow south exit, take a right at the second roundabout [uphill slightly] towards Euroconnex.Continue straight through the crossroads and follow that narrow road to a T junction-continue on to the next t junction turning right slightly uphill to the next t junction-turn right.
Continue on uphill past thomastown school [on your left] untill you come to another t junction and veer left there.
Continue on to another t junction on your left about a mile or so further on and take that left [if you see a road to your right signed for woodenbridge-you have passed the t junction that you have to take,it's kind of hidden and is basically a tarred lane but its a public road.]

Follow that road for about 2 miles ignoring a cul de sac to the right 1 mile on and a t junction to left.
Keep going straight but if you pull in for bearings and look to your left you will see Arklow town about 4 miles East of you and 1000ft below you.

At this stage subject to further thaw, the snow should be almost up to the wheel arches of your car :D
On your left a mile or so after that last lefthand side t junction you will come to the gate to raheen wood-thats the entrance to croghan mt.
Don't go in there unless you have a 4wd and are a good off road driver -whilst its a lane it is tricky.
You can climb to about 1700ft asl if you follow that lane properly and you will then be in metre deep snow.

    Enjoy.
