Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was of the opinion 800 is the limit on all threads?

Ish. That's what's in the charter. But I'm thinking of raising the limit to 1024.

I took my first photographs of 2009 yesterday. I'm not sure you want more macro jewellery at this stage.

Paris by night, though you could probably figure that out yourselves,

@Calina, 1024 max size would make great sense for those of us linking from flickr, I know folks on slower connections would possibly suffer so maybe a trial period might be contemplated.

posted a similar one on the random photo thread, i'm quite happy in general how the set came out. had a quite good january i felt, but most of the others i was happy with are in the random thread.

nilhg, is that from the top of Tour Montparnasse? Really nice.

I hear what you're saying about flickr. If we do raise it though, threads can still apply rules (like, for example, the Random thread) ie, just because the charter says 1024 doesn't mean that 800 might not still apply on Random...we'll see.

Tale of two photos. 5 hours looking for a chair, find one and this is about the best from a rather disappointing set. But not annoyed as I learned that there's more to photographing an empty chair. I'll hopefully know the next time.
The photo below was taken just to finish a roll off. When the roll hits the 35th exposure I just snap the roll off quick as a lot of times 35 is a mis-reading by the camera. So no 5 hours looking OR standing in water OR rooting around fly tips in Ballymun. It's very bland indeed but I like it.

Got it in one, the open air terrace was closed the evening I got up there due to high winds, I had to shoot through tinted plate glass from the bar, it was a bit of a job trying to minimise reflections.

January, too, for me has being my most productive month despite less activity with my camera.

Three of my favourites from January.
