Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The 58mm refers to the diameter across the lense front
    58mm is correct iirc

Have a look at the front of the lens, you'll see a little circle with a line through it, and 58mm or whatever beside it. You'll find it on every lens, tells you the diameter.

I think you might be confusing the focal length of your lens with the diameter of the lens. Look for the Ø symbol somewhere on the lens.

I have a 400d and the kit lens also, the 18-55mm refers to the focal length. Different lenses have different thread diameters for filters. The 18-55mm kit lens sure enough has a 58mm thread.
