Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laptop wireless network internet connection

I am just after connecting to broadband with Vodafone at home on my desktop, but I have a problem with the wireless internet connection to my lap top. The wireless signal is coming through which is strong but when I go to connect to the internet "page cannot be displayed" shows up. Vodafone tech support insist that it is a problem with the lap top which is a Dell latitude D600 and the operating system is Windows XP. I have gone through the trouble shooting guide on Dell tech support but again with no success. Can anyone help me out here?

It's not clear what your problem is.

Are you having a problem with the Vodafone card, or having a problem with the WiFi connection?

What security software do you have installed?

The problem must be with the Laptop, I think! The WiFi connection is there but when I go to connect all I get is page not displayed. I have Symantec Anti-virus software, and I have tried turning it off and then connecting but still no joy?

are you able to access your routers page via wireless???

I think the IP address is 192.168.1.1

type that into your web browser and see..

    see what comes up?

    if nothing, maybe

    start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all

It's still not clear where your problem is.

1: Switch off WiFi and see if you can access the net with the Vodafone card

2: Remove the Vodafone card and see if you can access the net with Wifi

3: Can you access the net with a standard ethernet cable in the back of the laptop (with Wifi and Vodafone switched off/disconnected)?
