    1-8 to 0-11

Referee not giving Kerry much according to the unbiased Radio Kerry.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

    And we are off again

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    1-9 to 0-11.

    Offaly by a point.

    EDIT: 1-10 to 0-11

The short play doesn't sound like its working.

    Now 1-10 to 0-12

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    All level again.

    1-10 to 0-13

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

RED for Offaly, they tried to sub him quickly, but Ref spotted it!

    1-11 to 0-13

    EDIT: 1-12 to 0-13

    Offaly keep scoring.

EDIT 2: Radio Kerry with a different score, they think its 1-11 to 0-13. Im not sure if they missed the point that Offaly got straight after the Red card. Not sure.

    Goal for Offaly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Fúck it! Offaly get a goal, with a Kerryman down injured.

Thats the game really. Cannot see Kerry get back.

    2-11 to 0-13.

    Just not good enough.

Going by the radio that Colin Egan has had a great game for Offaly

The extra man isnt working at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

    Back to 5pts now

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Had the ball in the net but disallowed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Goal disallowed for kerry for a foul on the GK.

    Radio Kerry lads agree.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    Goal Offaly.

Disgusted with the whole situation, but we had our chances, and we had the extra man and we couldn't do it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Poor second half performance, sounds like our lads were lacking in the physical stakes when Offaly upped the game

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

That comes with playing Limerick, Cork etc for the year instead of London, Derry, Westmeath etc.

So disappointed for the lads, but back in 2a next year is such a pity.

Final score 3-19 to 14 points

After the first ten minutes and the start we got its disappointing, but the lads gave them a good rattle and we cant ask for anything more then that

Roll on the first round of the Christy Ring Cup.

Hard luck lads. Hard to see what logic the GAA run but somehow they seem to think 1A and 1B are the same division whereas theres a massive gap say between Antrim and Offaly and Kerry and Carlow (which there isn't at all). When the majority of the County has little interest in hurling (though I know theres a big interest North), it's a credit that ye won 2A and are keeping strong in the Christy Ring.

Think it's time the GAA applied a bit more of their ambition in the promotion of the games abroad and at home into the development of some of the Counties involved in Hurling.

it was pointed out in the commentary that they lost narrowly to cork in paric ui rinn and drew with last years munster champions , i still think kerry have nothing to gain in the christy ring and would be far better off joining the early stages of the leinster championship and perhaps make the same switch in under age , most of the time kerry are far better then the oppisition in the B championships at underage level,

as the minor result on wednesday showed it would take a while to get kerry up to scratch in munster but a move to leinster would benifit them far more then the christy ring cup in the long term

It would certainly be of some benefit I think.

We can't move everyone into Leinster and have 5 teams in Munster

Says who? Kerry should have somewhere to ply their hurling ways...and Munster is not an option at the moment.

Spirited display by Kerry. They were going well up until Offaly had a man sent off. Offaly were fresher over the last quarter. 6 day turnaround wasn't fair or ideal. Any county would need games at a higher level to progress. Anyways we are where we are. Onto the Christy Ring Cup and the chase to get into the Provincial Qualifier Group.

The Christy Ring isn't holding Kerry back. Kerry declined Munster Championship hurling when they won in '11. If Kerry win this year, they'll take on the 4th placed qualifier county in a play-off - most likely Westmeath or London. If Kerry win there, next year's qualifier group will be: Laois, Antrim, Carlow and Kerry. The qualifier group is the level Kerry hurling wants to be at. A top 2 finish there in a good year will see Kerry advance to a Munster Championship quarter-final.

    Kerry targets:
    1) '14 - win Christy Ring Cup and qualify for McCarthy Cup play-off.
    2) '14 - win McCarthy Cup play-off and qualify for next year's Provincial Qualifier Group.
    3) '15 onwards - Finish in the top 2 of the Provincial Qualifier Group and advance to a Munster Championship quarter-final.

The Kerry manager is on record that his job is to get Kerry into the first round of the Munster Championship. A tough target but that's the target.

Congrats to Pobailscoil Corca Duibhne. It is so great to see and hear a winning Kerry captain in Croke Park. A great win for a mixed school with such small playing numbers to pick from relative to others.

    Well done to all concerned.

Ah fair enough, so should Down be brought in as well seen as they beat Kerry in the Christy Ring Final last year? What about Kildare, they won a Christy Ring a few years ago. Sure we had London in their last year (which was an idiotic decision) why not throw everyone else in? There's a way of developing Counties, making the Leinster Championship a farce is not the way, convaluted enough as it is.
