    So individual match ups?

    Enright - Brogan
    Aidan - Andrews
    Fionn - Rock
    Lyne - Flynn
    Crowley - Connolly
    Young - Kilkenny

    Or swap Lyne and Young?

Fionn hammered Kilkenny in 2013, he was whipped off early, so that's a possibility.

Marc must be injured. Shocked with his exclusion. Even more shocked with Murphy! Can't see what Fionn offers over him! But I believe in Eamon. He's seen the lads over the last 4 weeks.

In Eamonn we trust. Marc injured, no surprise. Murphy being saved to come on when the Dubs spring McManaman? Murphy would stick to him like glue. Donaghy better coming off the bench. We'll start faster with Geaney.

    Can't wait now.

Murphy is too light for McManamon. He doesn't lack for heart or effort or throwing himself around, but McManamon is a physical beast. Enright on McManamon and Marc on Brogan when McM comes on for me.

Its as physical a back 6 as we could pick, bar Marc for Fionn.

Bit of a surprise team there alright. From Dublin point of view would have preferred to see Donaghy starting, as Geaney seems a much sharper and more dangerous player. From the other point of view the changes at the back seem unusual, on paper it looks a weaker, less mobile back 6. Doesn't look like a man for man formation? Interesting anyway, could be the start of both teams 'surprise' line outs that tog out differently...

Isn't Marc injured? Will he even play?

Marc is injured, as is Paul Murphy .

The only fit defender on the bench is PA Kilkenny . Very surprising team, Fitzmaurice is ruthless.

They are fit enough to bench, so they'll have 25mins in them when needed. Wouldn't be on the bench otherwise.

Which is why Marc should come on when Dublin spring McManamon.

If he's on the bench and not fit to play then we might as well not turn up! It would be crazy to forfeit 2 spots on the bench like that.

Better hope for no early black cards if the two boys are carrying knocks

Strand Road man captain? Poor Dublin.

But If we were to win, Donaghy would surely do the talking?

Must be gutting for him right now, he won't get to lead the team out or around the pitch. Devastating in fact.

This type of thing keeps happening, Brosnan in 02, Gooch/Declan in 06, Galvin in 08, last year ( though that was injury).

Even 97 Liam Hassett took over from his brother

I think Geaney is more versatile then Donaghy,he can mix it up,

Donaghy will come on at some stage, not a bad sub to bringing on.

M o se has a hamstring injury by all accounts and hasnt trained since the semi.

Murphy took a hard knock in training.

Donaghy dropped, not surprised. Murphy is a big loss. Marc is a massive loss. They are excellent defenders. O mahoney simply doesnt have 70 minutes in those legs.

Kerry will have to score heavily. We will definitely be weaker at the back. Have to stop quick ball going in and force turnovers off Cluxton and up the field.

Nobody ever got rich betting against Aidan O'Mahony

Dont get me wrong, he is as tough and tenatious as they come. But man marking Murphy last year is not the same as covering the ground against Dublin.

Unless his job is to stick to Brogan and not the space in which case Dublin simply bring another mismatched forward into the game. Fionn and Lyne and no where near as reliable.

Will only be an issue if Kerry lose ala Jacks book in 2009

Maybe its time to change the way the captain is chosen? The likes of Crowley, Murphy, Geaney etc deserve a shot at it down the line. Hard to see anyone beating Crokes over the next few years
Probably a debate for another day though

    Croke Park is Full,
    A rising heat,
    Artane Boys play,
    A muffled beat

    Line-Ups confirmed,
    The teams are set,
    Nails are chewed
    Palms are wet

    Rosaries fingered,
    Pints are Supped
    Rest Sam McGuire’s
    Donated Cup

    “Come on Ye Dubs!”
    A young boy roars
    On Da’s Broad Shoulders
    A Chorus Soars

    “Ciarraí Abú!”
    Comes swift reply
    A Counties Passion
    Roared with Pride

    A Meath official
    He’ll need thick skin
    For instant curses
    Will rain on him

    In Hallowed Finals
    They’ve met before
    Thirteen in Total
    Kerry-Eight, Dubs-Five the score

    Of all their meetings
    Championship I mean
    Twenty Eight the count
    Margins less lean

    Seventeen to Kerry
    Eight to Dublin
    Two were Draws
    Replays are orphans

    Gooch, Brogan,
    Geaney, Flynn
    Cluxton, Kealy
    McManamon

    Legion, Dingle,
    Parnells, St Judes
    They both have Crokes
    It’s local brewed

    So Hurry Sunday,
    None can wait
    For Summers Climax
    I hold my faith.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

I reckon the amount of tickets the media got this year was away up,going by the local media down here anyway it seems the have away more,Radio Kerry giving away two tickets each day this week, cant remember that happening in other years

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,385 ✭✭✭✭D'Agger

I met a woman yesterday who was in the place I work. Herself myself and my boss were chatting away (my boss wouldn't cross the road to watch any type of sport) and she said she was going to the game but didn't have a ticket yet. Boss asked her does she have that much interest and would she go to all the games? She says, with a dead serious face, yes of course. I go to the Munster in Killarney and watch all the games on telly. But we always go to the all ireland.

I just started laughing and walked away. No sympathy for someone like that. Can Gtfo imo. It really pissed me off maybe more than it should after the trouble we had getting tickets.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,771 ✭✭✭✭keane2097

Sure you got a rake of tickets handy. You're scouring the country for tickets for Dubs now you turncoat :D
