    Very good win.

Is nice to have a semi final to look forward to for once, assuming we dot the I's and cross the t's against Cork. It's been a while.

Forwards moving well and backs are as tight as we've been for years in the league

Mahoney, Gooch and Donaghy are flying.

Disgusted to have missed this one. A very encouraging performance today.

Very solid performances from Donaghy, Murphy, Buckley (put in a huge effort) and Alan Fitz who kicked a few nice scores when introduced.

Competition for places not just on the 15 but the 26 is going to be crazy. Regardless, it's great to see so many chomping at the bit, early as it is.

Did the ball actually cross the line for the Monaghan goal?

I thought at the time(from the other side of the pitch) it hit the back stantion(sp?) and came out, but watching on RTE, it seemed to hit the crossbar and bounce out. Maybe an optical illusion.

I think the knock thing was a load of ****e tbh. He played a full game for Strand Road last night and was excellent. Gave Legion a proper hiding. Fitzmaurice seems to not fancy him much.

Ya kicked 7 points last night

Looked like it was over the line alright

Will Donaghy stay at midfield for the championship? Geaney full forward or maybe Tommy Walsh?

I am not as excited as the rest of ye not enough new talent found, 5 or 6 ould lads flying they have been there done that, Murphy is really exciting at HF ,not giving young guys enough of game time in my humble opinion I hope to allmighty god that I am proved wrong.

Stephen O'Brien seems to have fallen into a guaranteed starting position by never doing anything noticeable.

Just quoting this post from a while back as it the first thing coming to mind when looking at the team named for Sunday. O'Brien shouldn't be starting on form simply.

Rest of the team is ok. Goalie rotation continues. Don't know where Aidan is this weekend, he's not even in the squad. No harm to give Podge O'Connor a run though. I'd hope Crowley and Young will swap positions.

Would rather see BJK, Geaney (Paul) or Tommy Walsh in the full forward line as I've mentioned. Alan fitz gets another well deserved start after his tour de force in Clones.

When all the 21s are available, there will be a tight squeeze for squad places.

    Team for Sunday:

    1. Brendan Kealy Kilcummin

    2. Marc Ó Sé An Ghaeltacht

    3. Mark Griffin St Michaels/Foilmore

    4. Shane Enright Tarbert

    5. Peter Crowley Laune Rangers

    6. Killian Young (C) Renard

    7. Padraig O’Connor Killarney Legion

    8. Kieran Donaghy Austin Stacks

    9. David Moran Kerins O’Rahillys

    10. Johnny Buckley Dr Crokes

    11. Paul Murphy Rathmore

    12. Donnchadh Walsh Cromane

    13. Stephen O’Brien Kenmare

    14. Colm Cooper Dr Crokes

    15. Alan Fitzgerald Castlegregory

    Fir Ionaid:

    16. Brian Kelly Killarney Legion

    17. Fionn Fitzgerald Dr Crokes

    18. Barry John Keane Kerins O’Rahillys

Congrats to the SEM. Hung in the game well and killed off the game when they had to.

Lousy rule that the captain can't lift the cup if he is sent off though. The Captain looked devestated despite winning an AIF.

What were the two sendings off for?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Both for "Off the ball incidents" neither shown on TG4.

    Apparently Crowley kicked out.

Glass appeared to be genuinely shocked to be sent off, even after the game, he was seen approaching the referee about it.

Was certainly the turning point with Glass dominating midfield.

The SEM were fitter and finished very strong. They stepped it up even when it was 14 a side. Great finish.

    Kerry 0-14 Laois 1-6 after 26 minutes.

    Scores flying in.

    0-17 to 1-8 at HT.

    Going well so far.

Congrats to the Sem - very strong finish to the game. Scór All-Ireland on today also - we finished second in the quiz, happy enough against a very strong Offaly team. Hopefully the Spa set dancers will go one better this evening!

Goal from Egan, so seven clear now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    1-18 to 1-12 to Kerry

Laois seem strong in the second half, but a nice Kerry goal, keeps them in front.

Laois down to 14 men. Second yellow.

Laois gone down to 13 men. Straight red this time.

    1-20 to 1-14

    Kerry cruising. Delighted.

    2-25 to 1-17

3rd Red Card for Laois. Shambles, especially with a huge game next weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    2-27 to 1-19 brilliant stuff.

Delighted to see them staying up.

    Now onto a Leinster Championship!

Still afters going on, sounds like a filthy finish.

THey should be in Munster, I'd like to see them have a right go at Cork. ;)

I agree with Kerry being in the round robin group. Its a good idea to have teams of around the same level playing each other with the best progressing to tougher challenges. However if Kerry finish in the top 2 then they should have been routed into Munster. This year they would have played one of clare/Waterford in a Munster QF.

Agree with the congrats. Huge achievement.

Disagree that he should be allowed lift the cup after being sent off. A valuable lesson learned today. A captain is supposed to be a leader.

It's a strange situation - win the group, and you'll likely get hammered by Galway, whereas the runner-up plays Laois and has a decent chance of winning the semis!
