That ref is definitely not giving Kerry any obvious frees. Galway are getting some very soft ones.

Think he just gave us one very big gift with that sending off. Thought it was very harsh.

I dunno, I thought we got a share of soft frees too, very hard game to ref id say as the play was very ragged and scrappy

Have to say the keeper turned a near disaster goal to a beautiful little flick in the first half.....pulling it out of the fire big time

Not a marque performance like the semi final but then again the low scoring nature of the senior first half shows that the conditions were tough.

    Well done to all involved

Thought the game management shown by a young team today was top notch, caught the 2nd half only but they held posession, worked across, made Galway work very hard for the ball & then snapped passes in that, given conditions, didn't always stick. When they did however, we did well to pick scores and always keep Galway at a distance. It never looked likely that Kerry would relinquish their lead, it was matador stuff.

Cliffords goal was top drawer, already looking forward to seeing him next year & no doubt in the years to come. Delighted for Dara Moynihan too, he's had a fantastic year.

Ah fair play. It's good to see it moving from the traditional way and go to the captains town. I hope they get the crowd

Great spot for a homecoming too in fairness, pity they're so strict in the Square Pint for the lads eligible next year :pac:

Great crowd out to welcome back the minors in Kenmare last night, complete with burning sods of turf atop of pikes.
The Captain Sean O'Shea spoke very well for such a young man.
Stephen O'Brien spoke very well also. Great support from everyone and the lads looked like they enjoyed their night.
    They throughly deserved it.

Crowd of 3000 apparently. A fine 2 fingers to the county board and the decision not to host a homecoming themselves.

What in heavens name is people's issue here? There has NEVER been homecomings for any other team apart from Senior teams. The PC-brigade need to get off the high horse.

Its a bit of an odd situation.

Its the first time since 1994 that there has been a minor winner without a senior team also being involved.

So it years like 2014 you had a double homecoming, in 2015 you had some sort of homecoming for the seniors but with the added bonus of minors with a championship.

Having minors on their own though is kind of uncharted territory that was not really planned for.

Tis odd so far as we've been spoilt with the seniors making so many finals that a successful minor team could be accommodated with them.

The policy in place is that there is no homecoming for any team bar the seniors.

But there's nothing wrong with a club deciding to honour there players and by extension the team with an event such as kenmare did. Particularly since sos is the first all ireland winning minor captain kenmare have had. If the county board allowed these events to roll out to the towns depending on player involvement it would be no bad idea should this situation arise in the future.

They now are in the Semi Final of the Munster Intermediate Club Championship and play either the Clare or Limerick Champions

Couple of tasty football games on today in the Junior and Intermediate Club Championships

Junior Semi Finals on in Austin Stack Park

Na Gaeil V Listowel Emmets at 1.45

    Glenbeigh/Glencar V Ballydonoghue at 3.30

Intermediate Semi Finals on in Fitzgerald Stadium

Castleisland Desmonds V Kenmare at 2

Templenoe V An Ghaeltacht at 3.30

Na Gaeil 0-5 Listowel 0-0 after 10 mins.

I'm in Dublin going up the walls at missing the game. Nothing on Radio Kerry so following on Listowel's twitter feed.

    Na Gaeil Abú!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

    Goal for Na Gaeil

    Leading 1-9 to 3 points

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Na Gaeil 1-9 to 0-3 (though Listowel's twitter have them at 0-4)

    Nearing half time.

Great start for Na Gaeil considering how much of an underdog they were.

EDIT: HT Na Gaeil 1-10 Listowel 0-5

Gneeveguilla beating Annascaul at half time. 8pts to 1-2. Divison 3 promotion semi final play off. Winner plays St. Pats in the final.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Another Na Gaeil goal - 2-10 to 0-7

    EDIT: 3rd goal! 3-10 to 0-8

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,365 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    Fantastic win for Na Gaeil.

3-14 to 1-13 with Listowel's goal coming in the 6th minute of injury time.

Mike Griffin kicked 2-7 for Na Gaeil I think, and it sounded like Andrew and Jack Barry controlled the game around the middle.

Gutted I couldn't make it, but should make the final whenever it's on.

A solitary point for GG in second half not good enough. Lost by 4 in the end.
