I buy all my condoms in a charity shop. They might not work, but at least it makes it look like I'm making the effort

Huge no no, it's considered worse than human trafficking.

Sometimes I go into the Oxfam bookshop on Parliament Street, it's not bad.

When I first moved in with mates we got a ton of furniture for almost nothing in one of those shops.

What would make it a "no no"? If you like something, buy it - if you have the money, which you most likely will if it's something in a charity shop. You can get beautiful clothes in charity shops.

I've never bought anything in a charity shop, but I always bring in bags of my clothes still in really good condition (usually impulse purchases that I don't like once I get home, but still nice stuff!) ... It makes me happy when I go in a couple of days later and it's all sold :D I'm like, the opposite of a hoarder, I basically throw out everything I own every couple of months, so at least if I give them to a charity I don't feel like such a waster

Plebian? So you're sexually attracted to ice cream?

If you're really lucky you might get some clothes someone died in.

Used to always pick up stuff in the SVP shop, used to have loads of old cds and books. Remember once going in and asking them if they wanted some computer stuff, printers, cd drives and old monitors etc. but they didn't want them, suppose it would only sit in the shop for ages.

I put clothes in the clothes bank. The musty smell you get when you walk into a charity shop is rancid. I wouldnt go in with my wallet or phone, and find myself dressing down to buy some Christmas cards.

They sell 2nd hand shoes :'(

You can get really nice clothes in a charity shop.

Anybody with half a brain gives their unwanted clothes to a charity shop instead of a leaflet from a waste collector pretending to be a charity in your letterbox.

I know that Gorta in Limerick has some nice clothes from my house. Some barely worn some given away because I got fat or my clothes got thin(cant remember which happened).

It's great when you dig out something you haven't worn before.

i have much respect for charity shop workers, you should see the horrid stuff people put in bags for them to sort, they have to deal with people stealing from the shops, abuse as theyre Only charity workers, and well so on.

lots of the quality in the shops is good,as they dont resell the junk.

Nice, I have gotten Dubliners albums and some Ennio Moricone compliations for a couple of euro before Christmas.
Better than some chancer in a second hand music shop looking for 20+ euro for it.

You can often get it much cheaper if you buy it direct off the homeless person/junkie.
