Following further scans and examination, Jermain Defoe will undergo surgery tomorrow after suffering a stress fracture in his right foot. Early detection has allowed the Club to opt for the best long-term treatment.

Contrary to newspaper reports that Jermain may have been carrying the injury undetected at the time of his rejoining the Club, the injury, to the fifth metatarsal, was sustained post signing during a training session in the indoor arena.

Jermain is likely to be out for up to ten weeks.

    Explains the Keane signing IMO.

I don't believe so, he was cup-tied for the FA Cup.

Bent and Pav for the final...

Thats bad news about Defoe. Pav & Bent are seriously going to have to start working their socks off now.

Hopefully the introduction of Robbie will bring more goal scoring chances.
