It snowed in north Galway city at about 3am this morning...everything on the street outside was white. Although it was all gone oddly enough when I got up at 8am

Sligo is still snow proof up to now.

There was snow last night, but it turned to rain and never saw the light of day except for the mountain tops. Then it drizzled/rained all morning. Then the temperature suddenly dropped and there was a brief flurry of snowflakes around noon, only for the clouds to clear for a sunny, chilly afternoon.

Any precip on any radar always evoporates just before it's supposed to hit Sligo.

According to the forecast after the news, Thursday is still looking good for a trough to come our way down from the NW.

Easterlies may suit those around the Pale, but for us westerners, northerlies will bring us the snow.

Good timing too for the weekend ;).

i sure hope so, but those troughs can feck things up too as they can contain warm sectors. still the showers afterwards, although scattered, should definitely be fully snow all the time.

i've really had just about enough of tonight's crap- it starts snowing then turns back to sleet. it may as well just clear up now rather than this nonsense continuing:mad:
