Hey guys, I'm trying to help get rid of a virus on my mates Windows XP laptop, its a known virus and there are steps to remove it but they all involve using the XP recovery cd which we don't have, can't find it anywhere! Is there anything else we can do instead? Thanks

A boot cd should do the job
    UBCD4Win

Edit: If your using that guide you linked too then it will work fine.
Just boot up from the cd and use explorer like you normally would.
