Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How does loaded film relate to prints on rangefinder?

I have a Canonet GIII QL17 (rangefinder) which is leaking light slightly. I have the foam and instructions for replacing the seals but I don't have the time to do this work before I go on hols.

I am planning on using gaffer tape on the camera to help the seals until I can replace them properly.

On the prints (it only shows on the landscape ones) in 6*4 size there is approx and inch or white on the left hand side of the print.

If I am looking at the back of the camera closed with film loaded, which side is the light leaking in?

The image will be upside down and reversed left to right, so presuming the prints have been done correctly then it should be the right hand side thats leaky.

Thanks Daire. I thought I read that before about film but wasn't sure if it was related only to SLRs and the mirror mechanism.

Very interesting, I did not know that. I assume this would also apply to a Holga? I tried to take a panorama from right to left (because the film winds on to the right), and could not for the life of me work out why each frame within the sequence was reversed.
