Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is a good open game, fair play to West Ham the are looking to attack at every chance.

P.S. Is Owen Hargreaves out for rest of season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

West Ham look a bit lively but to be honest United are getting a lot of space and I've a lot more confidence that they won't waste chances as opposed to West Ham.

I love (well hate :)) the way Scholes saves up his booming strikes from outside the box for the money games at the end of the season (a la Barca last year).

Simply lulling defences into a false sense of security. Then, BAM! He'll boom one in a crucial CL tie. All part of his plan. :)

Before this match he was just 150mins short of the world record held by a former Atletico Madrid keeper.

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is close to setting a new world record for consecutive minutes without conceding a goal.

The current record is held by Atletico Madrid manager Abel Resino who played 1,275 minutes without conceding in 1991 during his playing days with Los Colchoneros.

The former Spanish international has praised the 38-year-old Dutch shot-stopper who is 158 minutes away from creating history, labelling him as one of the best goalkeepers of all-time.

"I would really like to keep the record but sooner or later someone will break it," Resino is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"I know how well Van der Sar is doing in the Premier League with Manchester United and I am intrigued to see how far he can go.

"In today’s game, it’s not easy to go so many matches without conceding a goal, especially given the standard of the strikers.

"Van der Sar is one of the best six goalkeepers in the world," he concluded.

Have to say, this game could be made for Fabio.

Tevez has been superb this half. Not so much going forward but he's really stifled West ham with his tracking back. A few times United's midfield has backed off too much imo and Tevez has tracked back to put in a good challenge and start a counter attack. United would be mad to let him go if they can afford him. He's vital when Rooney is not in the team.

West Ham are looking good in spells here, would not be surprised if they do score.
