That slush out there if it froze would be a deathtrap!

Reaching peak temps of day around now, and should fall from 3pm, gonna be lying snow left on grass and a slushy mess everywhere by nightfall.

I have my doubts even about that :(

Tuesay was pelting sleet and rain all day and evening and temps were supposed to be between 0 and -4 that night but not one drop of water froze anywhere in the country I believe

Lusk is in a sleetly, mushy mess... been more sleet than snow here most of the morning so the shield must be malfunctioning.

Thanks Felix! I was giong to post and enquire about the conditions back in my neck of the woods! Figured it'd be more sleet of not even rain than anything else. Looking forward to a nice freeze though!

Was snowing here until about 15 minutes ago. Here's a photo i took while walking through Kilmacud church from around that time. I'd say about 2 inches on the ground.

there is a mass of precipiation out in the Irish Sea on the met eireann radar
will this cause big problems in Dublin in a couple of hours time?

Yeah unfortunate that its not really snowing around this way - has been heavy snow falling at times but turns back to sleet and results in a mess!

Looking at met eireann's radar, it looks like something is about to come in off the Irish sea along the east coast.

Any weather experts have any thoughts on this?

Getting very dark in Merrion Square
Wonder what it will fall as
seems like anything goes this week, anything could fall out of the sky

Snowing lightly in Trinity again but I think I can already see a clearance to the east.

There's no end in sight to the Baltic conditions either, hard frosts and bitter days.

Possibly snow event for the North of the country on Saturday night and then cold air dragged back south.

The wife left Citywest at ~ 1:30pm , headed down the N81 to the M50 then headed southbound to Cherrywood and then back in the N11 to Cabinteely. No issues, bit of slush, but nothing to get excited about. (she did say it was a bit dodgy around Dundrum on the M50, but no biggie compared to Tuesday's 3 hour bumper cars session.).

She did say that northbound on the M50 was backed up from cherrywood though....

    It's raining in D2 now.

Traffic on the Dundrum Road from town has moved about 200m in the last 30 minutes. Its very slushy. Fair bit of a thaw going on and the roads seem to be alright.

The precip in th eIrish sea will hug the coast and should increasingly fall as snow I think in Dublin

A line of showers pushing into North country Dublin now, spreading into Irish sea.

That line of showers seems to be growing in size on the latest radars.

Was out for a ramp in the snow - great stuff.

Anybody thinking of heading for the Grange Road in Rathfarnham/Ballinteer....dont't!

Just started to sleet. 1.3c DP 0.9c
