Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you have a second team you follow?

As homage to mirwillbeback's thread on "Teams you hate apart from your derby rivals" (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055473970), I wanted to see what your second teams are, if any.

I'm a Spurs fan, but I used to have a real soft spot for Liverpool growing up. Dalglish, Rush, Barnes, yadda yadda. Having always hated ManUre, I'm actually starting to like them a lot now. And recently I must say I've a liking for Villa under O'Neill. For some reason, I like Fulham too, though that may be pity more than anything else.

Anyone else got a 'second team' who's results they always look out for?

Quite a few teams whose results I look out for in England...

Sheffield Wednesday (officially my second team)

But after that, I look out for Forest, Oldham, Carailse, Reading

I also look out for Leeds result (just to make sure they've lost - hate them :) ). Then we've got the other bigger teams from other countries, Celtic, Milan, Barca, Valencia, Boca, Ajax, Sporting Lisbon, Schalke...

I go to see Leyton Orient 2-3 times a season. heading to their away game Vs Hartlepool in a few weeks. Why? I went to a game once, met a load of 2g Cork lads, they started coming to City games as well, and thats how.

Brcelona as well, but I have only ever been to the camp Nou for a game once, so I am merely a Barca entuasiast.

Cambridge Unitled in the Blue Square Premier.
For the simple reason we I got addicted to Championship Manager on the PC, I always picked them, they were class!

Their website is better then many Premier League teams websites, some great articles.
I always watch for their score at the weekends.

    Plus they've a godawful ugly jersey :p
    Amber & Black, it's horrendous.

No second team for me. When United dont play I just hope Chelsea, Pool and Arsenal all lose. Thats about it.

I'm a United fan but I always check Barcelonas results and watch their games whenever they're shown.

    In Ireland, I support Bohs (I don't think that's a secret ;))

    In England, I follow Leeds.
In the Premiership , I follow Villa, and I also quite like Pompey.
Otherwise, in the EPL, I anti-follow any of the big four, with the roll of dishonour, from most to least objectionable...
    Chelsea
    ManU
    Liverpool
    Arsenal
(though I'm not convinced about the ordering of the last two)

To add the indispensable superior LoI supporter line, I think people who shun EPL to follow lower league clubs other than Leeds and other former greats, and who don't have any direct connections with such clubs, are pathetic posers. :P

I'm a fan of United but I love watching Arsenal play, wouldn't go so far as to call them my second team though :)

I always keep an eye out for Carlisle as a mate plays for them, and Worksop Town in non-league as I've been to loads of their games over the years.

I also watch out for Gillingham as my dad followed them.

Villa of course are my love, but i frequent the X and St. Colmans on a semi regular basis. Dunno if Ramblers have got their license for next season yet, hopefully they will.

    Cardiff City
    Hull City
    Leicester City
    Peterborough United
    Tranmere Rovers
    Wolves

Also support the teams that get promoted from the Blue Square Premier, so Aldershot and Exeter this year as well.

Not really a 2nd team but always check the Man City scores and who scored, just for the legend that is Stephen Ireland.

2nd team if I had to have one would probably be Strasbourg.
Ireland wouldn't be on the list at all tbh.

I support Shelbourne but I sometimes look at the results in the foreign leagues such as in England,Spain and Italy.

Just imagine the EPL being as big as the Premiership!

I have a few teams I'd watch and look out for.
-Manchester United (was once a "fan")
-Athletic Bilbao (I like the whole "cantera" policy)
-Botafogo (one of my mates is a mad Botafogo supporter)
-Go Ahead Eagles (My adopted Dutch team)
-Ferencvaros (again, a friend of mine is a big Ferencvaros fan)

I'd nearly have a team or two that I like in every major league.

Any reason? Would look out for their results from time to time myself.

My brother is a lifelong Shots fans and introduced me to them a few years back. Been to serveral of their games and gotta say that the atmosphere at those games are the best I've ever witnessed. The playoff semi-final against Carlisle a few seasons back was just unbelievable. My troat was red raw at the end of the night from all the singing. Amazing experience.

One team only and that is Arsenal don't even have an international team.

I do look out for QPRs results, would like to see them back in the premiership.

United fan, and I tend to keep an eye out for teams with a strong Irish contigent. I like to keep an eye out for Reading largely on that basis but also because their approach towards football is always admirable. I like to see Villa do well as I have a lot of respect for Martin O'Neill. I used to enjoy keeping an eye out for Celtic in the O'Neill days when they had Larsson, Sutton and co, but back then the SPL was more appealing whereas now it's pretty lacklustre really.
