Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Just reading your posts here, hope you are still somewhat current...

I am looking for recommendations for any classes that would help me get to grips with my camera and photography. I am Drogheda (Co. Louth0 based but can travel.

    Any help would be excellent

    Hi Rastaman and welcome,

Hope you don't mind but I move your post off the tail end of the other thread into its own thread. You'll probably get more traction when its on its own.

I throw one in for starters - check out the offerings in digitalbeginners.ie - Dave from there posts here from time to time, but a number of previous course participants have reported good things. They also do the Canon training so there's obviously merit to their offerings.

Also I think there is a camera club around drogheda (Dink, sNarah - help me out here?) which may be of interest to you (assumes your profile location is accurate).

And finally, hang about here - there's lots to be learned and new people are always welcome,

Anyhow, hope you don't mind me ripping the post off the other thread.

    Cheers.

EDIT: Good lord but my typed English is gone to the dogs!

Drogheda have a very good camera club. Go along to a meeting as a visitor & see if it suits you. Being in an active camera club & posting on helpful forums (like this one) are good ways to learn.

(but the website seems to be broken at the moment)
    Working again now. :D

    Guys,

Thanks a million, browsed the web for what felt like weeks (was really only a couple of hours!) but you lot pummelled the old www into oblivion.

I never thought of DKIT, but will have a look at thier schedules.

I have a D70 my neighbour more or less gave to me (so he could buy his new Canon)

I have looked at the inst. of Photohragy website, thank you, plenty of info on there and the Canon training says alot for the store.

i will ask my neigbour about the Drogs Camera Club as well.

    Wow, Really greatful.

    Thank you (",) (original smiley!)

A fine camera to start on! I've also heard great things about the very active Drogheda Camera Club

    Hi rastaman,

Dink & myself are indeed in the Cameraclub here in Drogheda, we meet every thursday, only joined myself a couple of weeks ago and it's interesting enough alright!

You just missed their course they organise, appartenly it's a very good one.

Other than that, I know the DIFE have a fulltime course in multimedia production/creative art, which includes photography as well, check out their website. They have an evening class as well, but it's more for compact digital camera's (e.g. how the buttons work and how to improve the photo's on the camera).

As far as I know that s the only options here in Drogheda. If you want to join the camera club, just pm Dink or me for more info!
