Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey lads. Have a simple question for ye. Buying a new TV.
    Needs to be:
    - full HD
    - 42-46"
    - budget €1000-€1300

I have been researching for a while now and have come up with a few options. Need to hear peoples opinions on them.

    1. Samsung series 6 46" LE46A656
    2. Samsung series 7 46" LE46A756
    - im guessing that series 8 and 9 (LE46A856 and LE46A956) are too expensive?
    3. Sony W series 46" 40W4500
    4. Sony W series 46" 40W4000
    - not too much difference between these except for improved motion blur and 100Hz rather than 50Hz

    Can anyone help me out?

    Cheers

The Sony W4000 and 4500 get pretty good reviews and what I've seen of them (albeit in less than ideal showroom conditions) its well deserved.

I haven't gone looking specifically at the Samsungs, so I can't comment.

Without doing exhaustive research, I notice that on Powercity's site the 46W4000 is €1409 if you buy online, you can collect instore if you wish, http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-14-46W400

By the same token, they also have the Panasonic 50PY80 http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-14-50PY80 - this is full HD, 100hz, and includes a Panasonic BluRay player in the package at €1499. You might consider this option - I have a preference for plasma so I'll state that up front, and If you don't already have a Bulray player I think the package offers a better deal all in.

These are quoted as examples, you should do your own price checking etc. before making a decision.

    Ritz.

I have a LE40A686 and find it a brilliant TV! Richersounds have the 46" coming in soon at £999.99 but if you can stretch to the 7 series, go for it! I think the 7's have LED lighting?
