    Tried these:

    Name: o2 mms
    APN: pp.wap.o2.ie
    Username: user
    password: not set
    Server: mmsc.mms.o2.ie
    MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8802
    MMS proxy: 62.40.32.40
    MMS Port: 8080
    MCC: 272
    MNC: o2
    APN type: mms

And messed around with changine ports, adding usernames and passwords etc etc

Have you tried all the settings in the sticky at the top of the forum? All you've pasted there is MMS. There are also WAP or ISP settings.

What happens when you try to conect to the web?

I have open internet settings as its own APN profile for connecting to the web using my data plan, when i edit this my mms internet wont work

The MMS needs to work over the WAP APN. On some devices you need to setup a WAP profile and then in your MMS profile you link to the WAP one.

You shouldn't be editing your ISP (internet or open.internet) ones at all for MMS.

Tried it, set 2 profiles there now:

    WAP2.0
    Profile Name: O2 Ireland
    Homepage: http://www.o2.ie
    Proxy: 62.40.32.40
    Port: 8080
    APN: internet
    Bearer: GPRS

    MMS
    Profile Name: O2 MMS
    Homepage: http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002
    Proxy: 62.40.32.40
    APN: internet
    Bearer: GPRS

    Not working.

    Any ideas?

The available fields in each profile are:

    Name:
    APN:
    Username:
    password:
    Server:
    MMSC:
    MMS proxy:
    MMS Port:
    MCC:
    MNC:
    APN type:

So as long as i am puting them in the right place.....

I can only comment with regard to Meteor and Vodafone, but I have never heard of a network requiring a user be setup on the WAP APN in order to send MMS.

    @Rsaeire
I could be wrong but that has been my experience. I'm not familiar with the g1 specifically so was doing my best to get some information from him so hopefully others could help more.

Some devices need you to setup a WAP profile and link the MMS one to it and others let you put the WAP settings into the MMS profile, in my experience.

My comment wasn't specifically aimed towards the G1, I merely found your comment interesting on having a WAP profile setup in order to use MMS. I have never come across it myself on any handset, so I thought I'd try find out more information.

    It should be "http://".

Generally issues with receiving MMS are network based, not handset settings based, so I'd recommend the OP ask O2 to check their MMSC (Multimedia Messaging Service Centre) profile and if needs be, reset it. This is generally done by the technical support team, so you may need to go through customer care and ask them to pass the message on to the relevant department.

    Thanks the settings worked.
www.o2.ie/settings has the option for G1, but they never get sent.
Called help line, they did not have the option for G1 on their intranet and then the lady was trying via the external site again, no luck.

    Added them manually now.
