    Five-star hotel for Datça

MUĞLA - The popular holiday city of Datca is getting its first five-star hotel. With the construction plans already approved, the hotel should be pampering guests soon.

The Gölmar Tourism Company has been granted permission to build the first five-star hotel in the coastal Kızlanaltı district of Datça in southwest Turkey. Construction is to start in a few weeks, the company said.

The five-star hotel will have capacity for 300 guests, but with a focus on eco-tourism, the hotel will be only three stories tall.

"We wanted to base our facilities on the concept of eco-tourism," Gölmar Tourism Company owner Özkan Karademir said. "That’s why the building will not be taller than three floors."

This will not be the only thing eco-friendly about the hotel. "There will be nearly 6,000 meter squares of green space around the hotel," he said, "That’s almost twice the size of the hotel itself."

Previously, there was one holiday resort, three three-star hotels and many smaller hotels and pensions in the coastal district.
