Another water landing shortly after take off, this time in Darwin harbour, Australia.

Was only in two foot of water though so they just walked to shore apparently. But I guess that shallow depth doesn't actually make a whole lot of difference to how tricky the landing will be, just that they can literally walk away from it if the plane stays in one piece.

Slightly puzzled as to why it had to force land when only one engine had a problem (as reported). There must have been a problem with the other engine or else he couldn't feather the propellor on the bad engine. He really should have been able to fly to an airfield.

Maybe he lost hydraulic pressure or something?

Just losing one engine in a Chieftan is a major emergency. Depending on how loaded the a/c was and the OAT at the time (Northern Australia, remember) the functioning engine almost certainly wouldn't be able to maintain level flight. The old adage about multiengine GA aircraft is that 'the remaining engine will take you to the scene of the crash', and it's almost always true. Two engine non-turboprop light aircraft are a recipe for disaster.

Scary all the same, but well done to the pilot on another good landing, everyone walked away and a/c looks fairly intact, see photo ..............
