Low and behold, I finally took the plunge!

Been wanting to go down the classical route for ages and after much deliberation I ended up chosing the Cello as my instrument of choice. Picked up this Stentor Cello for 500 euro with a gig bag bow and rosin delivered off Thomann. She might not be orchestra standard but the sound and feel off it is really nice...in my noob cello opinion anyway. Well worth the dosh, lessons are next on the agenda. Dont suppose anyone would have recomendations for limerick by any chance???

O no the thread doesnt end here...Turns out a hardcase came in the mail today.....

.......and look theres a farmilliar looking bass inside!

Ended up buying back my old Warwick, thick neck or no thick neck i got an amazing deal on it and it sounds great. Besides I really missed having a 5 stringer in the house and i have somthing to play during the week when im at college too. Still kept onto the Musicman though incase anyone was wondering.

Nice one Patricide. What a cool looking instrument. Is it a loud instrument to play?

Well its loud enough but not too loud...Am i dunno really what to compare it to. Im bringing it up to college next week though and i doubt il be getting any noise complaints anyway. Maybe like a small 10 watt guitar amp in loudness.

Spoonbadger, i can safely say it was money well spent, i got the chance to play a few other entry level cellos and the stentor sounded and felt the best to my ears/hands anyway. Might not look as cool but hey if i wanted a nice piece of wood to look at id get a nice coffee table right!

its no use to you now but i was told by a very respectable cellist NEVER to buy an entry level cello if it is going to be shipped. you should bring it to crehans to get set up.

Tis been set up by a freind of the family whos a pretty respectable orchestra player. She said it was a grand thing to start on, it sounds fine to me and its sturdy out. After a year il fork out for a decent one :).

It's a big-assed fretless bass with extra high action for easier slapping :).

Ashdown klystron 500 and the abm 1X15 is currently under it. My Abm 4X12 is out in the garage. One cab for band practice, another cab for learning songs inside and the two combined for monstous tone!

    Nice buy.

Cello is probably my favorite sounding instrument. Love to hear some sound clips when you're up and running with it!
