If this is who I suspect it is (and one of the Britbloids says he's from the border area which all fits), then I wonder what happened to the previous allegation of sexual misconduct.

    Any local knowledge, anyone?

Politician denies new gay sex allegation.

AN ex-Fianna Fail councillor has been questioned by gardai about the alleged sexual assault of an Eastern European man.

It is the second time that the councilman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has had an allegation of inappropriate sexual advances made against him.

On a previous occasion it was a teenage boy who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the businessman.

Last week, a man in his 20s contacted gardai to say that the county councillor had assaulted him after they watched a gay porn movie together.

It is understood that the politician -- in his 50s -- was quizzed by gardai about the allegation on Wednesday.

According to the alleged victim, the pair watched an adult movie together and had been drinking.

They then went to bed but the Eastern European native says he woke up some time later with his trousers removed.

Although he admits that they watched the blue movie, he told gardai that he did not consent to engaging in any sexual activity with the man.

The accused man who is well respected in his local area denies any wrong doing.

He says that anything that happened was consensual and therefore that the foreign national is lying.

The man, who is still in politics but no longer a member of the Fianna Fail party, went to the gardai station voluntarily.

It is understood that gardai have acted on his counterclaim and have arrested the Eastern European man on suspicion of making a false allegation.

I'd say I'm thinking of the same person as you, someone who was arrested on similar charges weeks after his 50th birthday, leading to him to resign from FF and sit as an independent?

That sounds like him - he would be a major figure in one of the smaller towns in County Cavan.
