Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    BOY 8-BIT

Boy 8-Bit is one of Mad Decent's most recent signees and has been coined by Diplo as one who's gonna blow big in '09. He's been bubblin' on the underground since 2004 and one of his first tunes, "Turbo Leader" (on Touche's Body Clap label) was an ode to his childhood Commodore 64. He then followed a year later with "Long Jeanne Silver" which got rave reviews & was cited "an awesome electronic masterpiece" by IDJ Mag.
Boy 8-Bit has held a residency at Touche's Body Clap night (T-Bar & Fabric) and also played guitar for the Black Ghosts. He currently has 30 remixes to his name too including for Chromeo, Midfield General, Lethal Bizzle, Armand Van Helden, Mika & even Dave Clarke!
His debut Mad Decent release "Suspense is Killing Me" just came out this winter with a remix from Drop the Lime on there too.

lickle bump with REACH info for that same night

There’s a quiet revolution brewing in London, as punters increasingly turn away from the plastic hyper-synthetic sugar rush of much modern Drum and Bass, flocking in their droves to the fertile pastures of Dubstep, while a new and hungry breed of DJ’s, promoters and producers revisit the Jungle roots of London’s Urban Music culture and increasingly seek to explore the spaces the genre rushed past in it’s exhilarating but flawed journey to a future that increasingly sounds more dated than its roots, winning the hearts of both new ravers as well as coaxing many an older hand back onto the scene. Few nights in London exemplify this broadminded approach to modern Jungle as well as Rupture, where a combination of an absolutely punishing rig, an open-minded approach and a friendly, clued up crowd have resulted in one of London’s best-kept secrets, and few people in Drum and Bass as a whole have had careers as story-book-perfect as Rupture resident DOUBLE O, who plays for REACH at the Twisted Pepper on the 13th of February.

Initially serving his apprenticeship at a very young age, helping out with his elder brother’s Reggae sound-system and getting heavily involved in the London Afro-Carribean “Blues Dance” scene, Double O went on to discover Hip hop, 80’s Electro and the earliest sounds of Detroit Techno, while he continued to bless the Mic for a variety of the Reggae and Dub Soundsystems that have been the backbone and foundation of British Urban Music for the past four decades.

The dawn of the Rave era saw all of his influences get thrown together into a melting pot, and inspired him to take up DJing, going on to cut his teeth with a four year residency at the Warehouse in Doncaster, alongside DJ’s like Carl Cox, Kenny Ken, Grooverider, Jumpin Jack Frost, LTJ Bukem, and Nebula 2; the rest is history as releases followed on labels as diverse as Formation, Lab Logic, DZR, Cylon, Hidden Hawaii, Digi Lab and Syncopathic, as well as a huge amount of gigs and pirate radio appearances. His general style is very much a purist’s approach to the harder end of modern Jungle, sample based, syncopated and fuelled with ten tonnes of solid sub bass pressure. He divides his time between DJ-ing, Production, Promoting his Rupture night with partner in crime DJ Mantra and being a youth worker in London dealing with troubled inner city youth.

We’re incredibly excited to have him coming over to REACH on the 13th, and we hope to catch you all down the TWISTED PEPPER to give us a hand going ape****, brocking out like spastic monkeys and hollering for rewinds!
