Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

An appointment like that would be farcical, too much nostalgia around these days.

One way or other, count Chelsea out of contention for the title now for certain.

I'd give it a go for £70k a week and full control of all transfers.

More ridiculous news from the merry-go-round.

Who would honestly want to take the job now, although the farcical demands and timeframe probably mean that getting sacked probably isn't a career stain.

No surprise with recent results and the way they have looked on the pitch.

    Mancini, Rijkaard or Hiddink?

    Woohoo.

That takes another team out of the title race.

was on this site before Sky Sports and BBC dont have it up yet

why the hell would they sack grant and pay him big compensation after recently signing a new deal only to rehire him?

Any intellegent Chelsea fan should welcome him back with open arms. He was fantastic for us. It's a good decision, we still have a chance of the FA cup and the CHampions league but not with Scolari. he cost us our home record as well. Rjikard wouldn't be the worst but Hiddink would be better. Nostalgia wants vialli though

Who said Chelsea are broke. That compensation package will cost a fortune :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,252 ✭✭✭✭stovelid

Grant mustn't have a shred of dignity left if he would even consider going back. And if he does, he should negotiate the mother of all compensation packages.

Should never have been sacked in the first place.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

...maybe they haven't paid him yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,518 ✭✭✭matrim

I'm surprised at this and as a Villa fan don't know if it's good or bad news for us.

On the one hand it puts Chelsea in a bit of turmoil right before we play them, but then again they might have new manager syndrome and play fantastic for the rest of the season.

Van Haal must be on the shortlist too.

    That sneaky fcuking Russian.....

Getting sacked after 7 months is a joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

It's not that great news for non-Chelsea teams. Scolari was sticking with his narrow system which wasn't working. However there's not much a manager can do to change the squad that is just desperately lacking in wingers.

    Still, hilarious decision.

get somebody in temp until the end of the season and bring back the special one, ask any arsenal fan what would you take, winning a trophy or playing with style......i will take my winners medal please.

Martin O'Neill is not for sale Roman!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

I'm not surprised he was sacked, but i'm surprised he was sacked today. Thought they'd leave it till the end of the season.

Who will they go for now? Hiddink would be the best choice i think. Sven? O'Neill? Mancini? Grant?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,115 ✭✭✭Pal
