    Hello,
Is it possible to buy just the CPU fan and not the heatsink? The one I have is very noisy? Does anyone have recommendations for a quiet fan for a Socket A AMD Duron CPU.

    Cheers.

It all depends on who made the heatsink?
Normally the more expensive ones allow to you to swap fans as you please.
However the standard cheap or OEM ones don't.
Did you buy the heatsink separately ? If so you might be able to.
    If not then no.

Maplins still have a decent selection of Socket A heatsinks. They're not that expensive, in fact they have a lot of them in their clearance section, so you'd be just as well off picking up one of those rather then just getting the fan.

Thanks for suggestion. I'm thinking about something from QuietPC to reduce noise.

    Cheers
