    Hi,

My wife recently updated her mac to a new I-mac.

Her previous Imac and the other PC's on the network used to work together no problem.

Now everytime I'm downloading a file on a PC her network connection gets blocked comopletely until I run the diagnostic tool on the mac. This connects it for a few minutes then it gets blocked again.

If I stop the download it works as normal.

Does anybody have any experience of this or know of a possible solution.

In case anybody has the same issue and comes across this thread:

I believe its an issue with the most recent os update or the hardware:

I finnally decided to try a new router as I concluded that the one I had (Belkin high speed 125mbps reouter) wasn't solid.

    I got a D-Link DIR-300 802.11b/g Compatible Wireless Router

This has solved the problem and generally improved my netwokr performance.

More than likely a filter problem.
If you are using Bittorrent on the PC it could be hogging the bandwidth.

I initially thought it was utorrent hogging the bandwidth but I limited the bandwidth it used, the same happened.

Yeah, its can still pull the network down though. Id adjust the number of connections rather than the bandwidth. :)
