Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First post in here, I've got a bit of time on my hands and would like to replace our ratty wooden shed with something more substantial. I don't have any building experience, but I do learn quickly and don't mind hard work. Can anybody point me to a good resource for doing it all myself? The structure will be about 10' x 12' and I'll obviously need foundations etc. Can I rent all the stuff I'd need (mixer, powersaw etc)? I need all the help I can get :D

Ok mate this would be a pretty handy job for you to do now the first thing you should do is build a trench for your foundations and also but rebar down, after this you will pour your concrete and build your walls, then you can pour your concrete floor inside the shed, when building the walls make sure you use a row of damp proof course on the bottom layer to prevent rain water comin inside or anything. when you have your walls built do a roof etc. if you need any further assistance pm me ok

There are plenty of plant and tool hire places about so renting the gear shouldnt be a problem. There are pros and cons to renting some gear over buying (mixer will be handy all the way through the build) but thats for another day. The DIY forum is probably a more appropriate forum.
