Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, theyve poor records in friendlies.

Poland away to Wales, even though Wales are missing 5 first team players, it makes the bet and is the risk

Am looking forward to the Spanish team giving English footballers a lesson. Again.

My only worry is the genius of Capello conjuring up a miracle.

LoL at Terry calling Xavi "Zavvi" in the press conference. Remnants of Joe Kinnear and Insomnia. I say he should be stripped of the armband ! :D

yes that makes sense because club football is all made up of home grown players

how do you know I'm an Irish football fan?

I assumed you're Irish because we seem to be one of the few nations as concerned with England getting beaten, as with Ireland winning.

    If you're not, I'm sorry.

stream available on iraqgoals for the France Argentina game later. might be worth keeping this one streaming while watching the Ireland game on tv. purely because the little genius messi is playing.

I am Irish but not exactly the most nationalistic and hate the assumption.

I don't care about the English team much either way, but sometimes I like to see them do well if they have a few Newcastle players in it .

Other times I like to see them fail, as in fail to live up to the ridiculous overhype by their national media when they win as much as one game.

Also I love Spain and how they play football, especially compared to England.

Watching Wales on Setanta and where the hell is this match being played ? Looks like a training pitch.

EDIT: Christ the commentator said attendance is between 150 - 200 !

Roy Evans works with Wales. First I heard of it.

I'm going to have 2 TV's in the room, one on the Ireland/Georgia match, one on GSS, because well, there's some fascinating matches on tonight.

Now I need an extra ntl box...and another TV...

Spain one up at half time

I had a chuckle, David Pleat was just asked what was the difference between England and the best team in the world

Spain are playing well. Could easily have scored another 3 or 4. Will golden balls get a chance to save their blushes in the second half. I know he'll get his cap, but will he create any chances?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,836 ✭✭✭Sir Gallagher

Pretty sure Carrick was playong in the first half, thought i heard Fat Dolan mention him when i turned over at half time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,685 ✭✭✭Tom65

Awful defending. Still a good header though.

England really are so dull to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,485 ✭✭✭Thrill

Carricks playing alright. He's been poor though, as have England.

Almost 2-1 there, carlton cole unlucky.

Glad Young isn't risked but disappointed Capello still doesn't rate him enough to see what he can do against Spain. Better then Downing or SWP ffs.

    Barcapool easily on top.

The Manvilla Utd side is clearly a bit patchwork and making 5 subs at half time rarely helps the flow either, lovely through ball by Alonso for Villas goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,836 ✭✭✭Sir Gallagher

The thing is with England, it never really feels like you're watching a football team just some kind of media sideshow.

Thats pretty much how I feel when watching EPL.

How did the spanish fans behave themselves then, the little monkeys?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,942 ✭✭✭missingtime

From the bbc live text ticker:
David Beckham pumps a long ball towards Peter Crouch in the Spain box, but Pepe Reina collects. I cannot tell you how depressing it is to see that after the pretty patterns Spain have weaved over the last 86 minutes. Dark age football.

Liverpool fans are largely uninterested in the England side for a number of reasons. A Liverpool fan told me that. He was from Liverpool.

Yeah that's where most Liverpool fans are from funnily enough.

Most? Depends on your definition of "fan" really i suppose. By the definition used round here, "most" are from outside Liverpool.

I take pleasure in seeing them loose aswell (and I am certainly not an Eircom league supporter), In fact almost as much as the average english man takes in seeing Germany loose, and i dont feel one bit guilty. Although funnily enough anytime Germany qualify for any major tournament the English dont have to put up with the german media ridiculously over-hyping an average team who choke under the pressure. They also dont have to listen to the insufferable nasaly whiney screams of John Motson any time GERRRRARRD, LAAMMMPPPARRRD or RRHHOONNNEEYY go within 5 feet of the ball.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

Either would you have to listen to the English media if you didn't watch their channels tbh.
